James is participating in Forrester’s IT Forum where he will participate in a session on Decision Management and blog the conference.
James is one of the features speakers in Silverlink’s “Think Different” Executive Seminars. These are taking place in Boston, Oakland, Thousand Oaks, Minneapolis, Hartford and New York in May and June 2008.

James is speaking at the DAMA International Symposium & WILSHIRE Meta-Data Conference March 16-20, 2008 in San Diego. His session is on Tuesday March 18th – Business Rules, Decision Management and Smarter Systems.
James is speaking at a number of IASA IT Architect Regional Conference 2007 events this fall. The book should be available at the events and James will be presenting some key concepts around decision services and enterprise decision management.

James spoke as part of the Services: Science, Management & Engineering (SSME) program at UC Berkeley in November. The topic is “Challenges and opportunities in customer-led services”:
The growing market for innovative, customer-led services created challenges and opportunities for existing companies and new start-ups alike. Customers are demanding ever-more personalized services and forcing companies to adopt micro-segmentation and more sophisticated targeting approaches. At some point companies must switch from process-centric to customer-centric services. This session will explore customer-led services, some of their challenges and opportunities, and will discuss some current and short-term
future examples.
James is presenting on Extreme Personalization for Markets of 1 at Content Week 2007. The session will cover developing micro-segmentation and other advanced analytics, technologies
for personalization such as business rules, collaborative filtering and how to deliver the right content, at the right time, through the right channel to deliver personalized experiences.
